BENJAMIN WETHERBEE

I play the fiddle, write and sing songs, make art, and write poetry, currently based in Boston. I love doing these things so much that I made a website about them!

I grew up in an artistic family in the Boston area.

My mom, Ruth Rappaport, is a one-of-a-kind old time guitar player, singer, and pianist. My dad, Peter Wetherbee, is a killer roots rock guitar player. My grandmother was a painter, and my great-grandparents were Yiddish writers.

My music is rooted in the traditions of Appalachian fiddle music and rock'n'roll, with healthy doses of experimental/freely improvised music, contra dance music, freak folk, bluegrass, Cajun/Creole, and punk.
